SPADA Salon & Day Spa achieved record-breaking results at its fifth annual SPADA-thon having raised $22,700 to split between two local charities, PACE Center for Girls of Lee County and the Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida. At the May 20, 2014 event, more than 350 attendees enjoyed discounted hair cuts and spa services, bid in the silent auction and shopped merchandise offered by fashion vendors.
The event also served as the kick-off to PACE’s summer dress collection campaign. Nearly 400 dresses were donated by SPADA-thon guests. The new and gently worn dresses were offered for nominal prices at Love That Dress!, the ultimate shopping spree fundraiser for PACE Lee held on Aug. 27, 2014.
“I am so proud of my team for their ongoing commitment to our community through SPADA-thon. Their generosity combined with the support of so many sponsors and donors allowed us to double our impact from last year,” said owner, Judy Williams, “The energy was fantastic, and I loved watching everyone primp, shop, dance and laugh while raising funds for two deserving charities.”

PACE Center for Girls provides girls and young women an opportunity for a better future through education, counseling, training and advocacy. The Center offers year round counseling and academic services for girls, ages 12-18, who are facing challenges such as foster care, domestic violence abuse and neglect, death of a parent, substance abuse, and/or family history of incarceration.
The Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida will open in 2017 on the grounds of HealthPark Medical Center. The hospital will provide 128 beds with the ability to expand to 160, 36 pediatric acute care beds, 64 neonatal ICU beds, 16 pediatric ICU beds as well as a plethora of other much-needed services.
